Dirty Sons of Pitches

The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" are trying to surf the waves of discontent over the anger over a mermaid casting, a bizarre children's movie trailer, the lack of songs in the new Mulan film, as well as making sense of Ari Aster's "Midsommar," a subject that becomes their pitch of the episode as they remake it on the spot via the rules of "Switch the Pitch." The guys close out playing America's favorite game, "So Shalit Be," devising blurbs for the films reviewed in keeping with the famous TV critic turned vulgarian.

Episode 242 includes:

-The live-action Ariel will be played by a young black woman, and portions of the Internet are losing it.

-Trailer reactions to live-action "Mulan" and "Spies in Disguise."

-Ben and Nate debate the merits of "Midsommar" and whether it's an improvement from "Hereditary."

-January releases "Escape Room" and "The Kid Who Would Be King" get their due. One is... fine.

-"Spider-Man: Far From Home" is a fun sequel that Ben thinks even does things better than its predecessor.

-This Week's Pitch -- Switch the Pitch: Midsommar!

-The guys play their new game where they roll a die and make up a new version of the movie on the spot. You decide if it's any better.

-This Week's Game -- So Shalit Be!

-The guys wrap up the episode by emulating famed critic Gene Shalit to give blurbs about the movies reviewed on this week's podcast.
